The Simpson Bros merchandising store in Airlie burned down Tuesday at midnight, destroying a dwelling barn and granary belonging to J. C. Hastings of Independence. Fire saved Miller Alcorn store. Hastings dwelling occupied by Clyde Turner. Merchandise loss around 12000 dollars, with 9000 dollars of insurance. Hastings has no coverage on his property.
