Mrs. Hugh Hanns and Dona Pomeroy returned from Washington where their brother Dole Pomeroy is recovering from railroand accident injuries. Younger Pomeroy says he is greatly improved but will take time to fully recover. A fire at the J W Dawes home on West Monmouth Street caused minor damage with undetermined cause.

Courageous Life Savers Rescue on Grim Atlantic Night
A February storm off Bellport tests the crew of three stations led by Keeper Berke. Frank Rayner of Blue Point and Albert Dae of Blue Point dive through fierce surf to reach a wrecked sailor clinging to the mast. Raymond Latham also enters the surf. After a twenty minute struggle the three reach shore with the man, while the Cromwell breaks apart. Rayner dies a hero, Latham survives, honored by Washington.
