Independence Oregon edition of The Enterprise announces publication details. It lists Henry E Browne as publisher and notes weekly Friday issues with address for ads and wake notices. Subscriptions priced at one year in advance 1.50 six months 0.70 and three months 0.50.
The notice promotes a Market Day auction in Independence to boost direct buyer seller exchange and cut middleman costs. It warns against out of county sellers profiting without taxes, highlighting open sales, fair play, and local dealer support amid community events and local personalities.
The sale will keep all money within the community with trades between local residents. The Enterprise confirms no out of town goods will be brought in and even the auctioneer is a Polk County taxpayer.
Rev. H Chas Densmore will deliver an address on Lincoln's Birthday Sunday February 8 at 11 o'clock. The G A R and W R C will attend in a body. All are invited.
