President Harry M. Shafer of Ashland State Normal School visited the Normal and Training School on December 3. He praised the training school's work and the pupils' uniformity, spoke on The Personality of the Teacher, and was warmly received. Port land businessman W B Rutherford, formerly Tillamook city school principal, visited last week. Miss Nora Sorenson of Corvallis toured the college and training school, staying with Miss Roma Stafford. Out-of-town guests at the Senior Reception included Col and Mrs EB Hofer of Salem and Hubert A Goode.

Polk County Good Roads League Formed at Meeting
A large crowd attended a Polk County good roads convention in this city with Judge John Boott of Salem addressing the gathering.
