The pro slavery Democracy through Mr Douglas in the U S Senate argues that laws of the Missouri bogus Legislature of Kansas must be obeyed and that settlers must submit. It cites a proposed law punishing speech or writing asserting rights to hold slaves as felonies with hard labor. Senator Richardson questions if Northern legislators will revisit the Nebraska bill’s construction and defend the free soil view.
