Traveling with a seven dog team Captain Worth, famed for sailing the main, searched Dikeman last week for a supply cache awaiting him with Dan Sutherland. He roams regionally near the Green Fraction on upper Otter chasing work and is described as not yet finished his travels.
After the first credible snowfall, freight rates to the creeks fell from two to one and a half cents. The reduction, believed instituted by the Mutchler Bros. freighters, is likely to be adopted by other outfits. The route remains fairly easy and should improve from this date.

Alabara Labouten, tied to J. W. Griffin’s shipping interests, remains at work though not on the water. He returned from Dis kaket on the smoke with about 900 pounds of freight by dog team, mainly smoked meals, and may go back for more after a strenuous trip.
Postmaster Tom Thurston, who has moved the office to his Willow Street residence between Second and Third, announces mail will reach the town sooner this month. Mail carrier Snow plans to arrive by month’s end or Monday, so residents must have outgoing letters in the office by Monday evening.
Axel Erickson of Henderson on 1 B Otter Creek underwent a serious operation in this city last Thursday. Dr Wortman presided with D Brooks assisting. two trained nurses Mrs Cummings and Mrs Young attended. He rests at the Miner Home lodging house and hopes to leave in about two weeks if recovery continues. Last Thursday marked Milkado's birthday with an elaborate banquet and several banzais heard in the city.
Report from Discovery Doulan describes John Ness a 42 year old resident of Flat City who left Jack Ritchie's cabin for Georgetown on a cold morning with no food or blankets. Fred Scheid J M Gifford Pete Jensen and Mr Stephens followed later and reached Georgetown two days after Ness disappeared. No trace of Ness was found and residents fear he may have perished due to exposure.
Harry Johnson and Al Burke, lay members of the Gug genheims on Flat Creek, returned to Iditarod City after investigating machinery needs. They expect substantial mechanical assistance next season and have bargained for it. They report Ross's automobile should arrive today and he may bring all machinery and ions to the city on the river ice with trailers.
Mr and Mrs Cash Chittick of Otter City roadhouse visited the metropolis with Mrs Don Junkins hosting. Mrs Rusk of Flat City merchant and Mrs Selma Swanson of the Grand hotel accompanied visitors in the city this week.
Frank Busham, once a local postmaster and druggist, laments losses from the Red Cross move and the relocation of the post office. He recalls busy days delivering mail and managing customers while handling medicines, estimating a two thousand dollar loss from the upheaval. Tom Thurston now runs the post office from his Willow Street home, with monthly mail delivery resuming.
The ad copy from Landehl's Emporium invites readers to "Chew our good tobaccos" and promises a cheerful outcome with the slogan "Cheer up" as it markets Smoke Optimus and Books.
Emil Jensen faced Commissioner Malthy for stealing a dog and pleaded guilty to a 30 day sentence after being caught sawing handles from a sled at Fiat. Witness Ambrose Van owned the sled. Jensen claimed ownership but evidence proved guilt. Frank Smith pleaded guilty to petty larceny near Brulin's and received a similar sentence.
A suit filed November 22 in the commissioner's court names AGF Murphy as plaintiff seeking to appeal a ruling in the hotel case. The action centers on the right to appeal and the entitlements under the court’s decision.
