Jim Chronister Attacked by Dog in Otter Creek
A dog from a passing team attacked Jim Chronister as he mushed home with his wife in the sled near Flat. The dog clamped his left leg, dragging him from the sled and injuring him. Ray Longton, driving the other team, beat the attacking dog with a shotgun butt then continued. Chronister suffered a serious leg wound and difficulty speaking.

Venerable Lord Strathcona Dies in London
Donald Alexander Smith known as Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal died in London last Tuesday after a severe catarrh. General Eugene M Carr an Alaska pioneer who helped in Fairbanks Alaska service died after a short illness in North Yakima. His father Colonel Carr died in Seattle weeks earlier. Carr prospected in Alaska before the Klondike discovery and served as US commissioner for Fairbanks district. He left Alaska in 1907 and lived in Washington since.
