House Substitutes Chamberlain Bill and Alaska Board

Cabin Fire at Flat Town Leaves belongings Lost
A cabin owned by Tim Rail near the Arctie Brotherhood hall burned last Tuesday around 10 p.m. origin unknown. Ralph Warburton lived there and lost all belongings. he had been away when the fire started. The fires serve as a warning against carelessness. A dance at Flat last Saturday drew a happy crowd. a midnight supper pleased attendees. Another dance is planned for Tuesday with more visitors from Discovery. Four dances occurred simultaneously across creeks including Flat City and Iditarod, all reported big successes. Several locals, including William Funtex and A J Weiss, visited from Flat City. Ronald Frost of Crowley Porter helped on the creeks Wednesday. Mrs Stetzer, recently ill, has recovered and returned home. Mr and Mrs Folsom of Moore Creek visited camp, enjoyed Discovery and Flat Creek dances, with Folsom leaving this morning. Mrs Folsom will stay longer. A letter from John Kempf, formerly of Iditarod, indicates quartz mining at Kenai Lake. Mr and Mrs Dave Stranberg visited Iditarod late this week. Location notices at Pioneer office.
