Elmer L. Smith reports fresh strike on Glen tributary Candle creek and will run assessment work on Otter claims until March before leaving for the Outside. In Oakland William Walker, a chained prisoner who escaped in 1912, returns married and wealthy and surrenders, asking for leniency but to serve remaining time. he will be housed as a prison trusty with daily visits for his wife.
Washington reports that on Tuesday afternoon the Senate confirmed Albert Wile's nomination as postmaster of Iditarod.

A Christmas Eve gathering at the Flat Creek Assembly Room featured Santa Claus gifts, a World’s Chorus program, recitations, poetry, and a dog tribute. Students and local residents attended, with music by Professors Hudson and Lowrie. Guests enjoyed free refreshments and dancing until 3 AM.
