Juneau April 6 The Democratic committee did not endorse Governor Strong for reappointment and also rejected any endorsement for Surveyor General Davidson. For governor the committee will submit Judge Robert Jennings editor John W. Troy Griffin and Whittlesey to the President and indorse Robert Sommers of Fairbanks for Surveyor General.
Berlin says German forces inflicted a sanguinary reverse on the French north of Rheims taking eight hundred prisoners. Paris reports trenches at points on a front mile long ended in places. The French claim gains south of St Quentin and near Vauxillon as they close in on St. Quentin with German withdrawals north of Felle farm.
