Hyde Park hosts first food and music festival crowd exceeds six thousand
More than 6,000 people attended Hyde Park's inaugural food and music festival on Sunday. Long lines formed at the entrance to a giant striped tent in the 53rd and Lake Park parking lot before the 1:00 PM opening, with continuous entertainment during the 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM event sponsored by the Hyde Park Business and Professional Association.

One of the largest mass condominium conversions is underway as East View Park on 54th Street near Hyde Park Blvd marks its first anniversary. Tenants formed a committee in 1976 to convert the 99 units owned by relatives of original developers, creating the East View Park Association to act as developer and hire legal and financial help.
