Affidavits allege polling law violations by Democratic precinct captains amid a week of disorder and a near polling place money exchange reported by Despres watcher Mrs Pearl Bear Potter. Despres and Uretz proceed to a runoff on April 5.

Richard Daley and Robert Merriam will debate at the Independent Voters of Illinois dinner on March 5 in the Mor rison hotel's Terrace Casino. IVI will delay its mayoral endorsement until both candidates speak before about 1500 members and friends. The program includes satire Who Blew Out The Fusion and features cartoonist Herblock with Hyde Park figures and notables from Chicago politics.

Leaflets Mailed For Hyde Park Renewal Areas A and B
The Chicago Land Clearance Commission mailed about 2500 information leaflets to residents and owners within Hyde Park Project A at 55th and Lake Park and Project B at 54th and Dorchester. The two sites cover about 47 acres of blight and near-blight as appraisals to tear down property begin. A site office is planned to open in about a month and appraisers will be active soon, with owners paid full market value for land and buildings.
