The newly formed Hyde Park Business and Professional Association hosts its first annual dinner on Tuesday June 19 at the Casino of the Cafe of Tomorrow 7500 Halsted Street. Kimpton Sparks Debate Over Area Schools Funding
University of Kimpton chancellor Lawrence Kimpton told 1500 alumni that area neighborhood schools have deteriorated and families will not send their children there. He defended a 3.7 million dollar expansion for Laboratory Schools and called them laboratory or experimental to improve curriculum and teacher training. Public Hearings On LCC Land Sales Plan
A public hearing on the Hyde Park redevelopment land sale plan A and B will be held at 10 30 a m Tuesday June 19 in the city council housing and planning committee room. The plan presented June 6 calls for selling land by a combined bidding negotiation system and must be approved by the city council the Illinois State Housing Board and the federal government. Minimum prices set by the LCC must be concurred with by the federal government and each sale needs multi agency approval.

Renewal plans for Hyde Park area progress
