Art at DuSable Promenade Artist Event in Washington Park
The 3rd annual art promenade will be July 30 and 31 from noon to dusk at the DuSable Museum of African American History. Exhibits line the tree lined promenade and sunken gardens north of the museum along Cottage Grove Avenue in Washington Park. Paintings sculpture graphics batiks ceramics photography weaving and jewelry in all price ranges are for sale. A special exhibit area welcomes elementary and high school students and senior citizens.

Podiatrist Dr Leonard Burroughs Elected Board Trustee
Dr Leonard Burroughs, a podiatrist and clinical associate professor at the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine, has been elected to ICPM Board of Trustees. He directs podiatry education at Loyola Burke Ambulatory Care Center in Maywood and lectures in the center’s foot clinic. He is a 1952 ICPM graduate and former ICPM and alumni education foundation president, with staff roles at Illinois Central Community Hospital and consulting work for KOMED Medical Center and Daniel Hale Williams Neighborhood Health Center.

Judd School Hosts Free Preschool Screening Test
A free pre screening for 3 and 5 year olds is planned at Judd School 4434 S Lake Park Ave on Thursday July Mth from 830 AM to 130 PM. Chicago Board of Education professionals will evaluate vision hearing speech language and motor coordination and provide parents with a summary of findings. The effort aims to ease preschool enrollment into elementary school.

Birth certificates required for Chicago school entry
Parents of Chicago born children entering public school this fall must obtain a certified copy of their birth at the Chicago Department of Health registration office in Room CL-111 at the Daley Center Randolph and Clark Streets. State law requires the certificate for first time entrants. Certificates cost $3.00 and are issued Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
