Hyde Park Renewal Plan Enables Library Study Center
A storefront at 1320 E. 55th will house a Study and Reading Center run by adult volunteers and aided by the Chicago Public Library. The center serves school children with after school homework help, tutoring, and remedial reading, opening around August from 3 to 6 30 p m. The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club and Child Care Society will occupy the space until demolition.

Each unit features three bedrooms two baths and modern amenities. An English basement maid’s room will house a caretaker. The plan includes an island kitchen living room dining area and new wiring plaster walls and storm windows. Riverfront Hyde Park lender calls the project a solid long term investment.
