Kenwood High School plans approved despite cost objections
The Board of Education approved preliminary architectural plans for a four building Kenwood High School complex costing 5.7 million dollars. Several members questioned the price but officials argued cutting costs would harm the educational program. final bids and working drawings will follow in about six months.

Jeffrey Segal a Roosevelt University senior will present his personal case as a conscientious objector before the Chicago Ethical Society. The platform meeting is Sunday Jan 8 at Hyde Park Neighborhood Club 5480 Kenwood. Segal recently received a four year prison term from Judge James Parsons for failing to report for induction. At its December 20 meeting the Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference named Rufus Cook as chairman for 1967. The board named three vice chairs Daniel Levin Mrs David Gross and Richard Walsh and elected officers including secretary and treasurer.
