McCormick Expansion For Chicago Plan Commission Hearing
Chicago Plan Commission will hold hearings Thursday at 2 p.m. in City Hall room 913 on the Metropolitan Fair and Exposition Authority plan to expand McCormick Place. Opponents include the Federation for an Open Lake Front and several civic groups. The MFEA seeks approval despite organized opposition citywide. Burnham Park parcels and lease authority for up to 180 acres were established by the Illinois legislature in 1955, with Burnham Park spanning Grant Park to Jackson Park and about 580 acres total.
