Hyde Park Residents Clash Over Parking Meter Plan

Hyde Park residents and Alderman Leon Despres met with the Chicago Park District to protest a planned meters pilot on the South Shore drive lot at 55th. The lot now holds 165 cars but would fit 108 with meters, worsening a local parking shortage near Lake Michigan beaches and the Jet building.
