City to adopt most of Hyde Park safety plan for Lake Shore Drive

Chicago officials will implement most of a 23 point Safety Improvement Proposal from the Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference for South Lake Shore Drive. The plan includes new signals signs pavement markings lighting and beautification with state and city collaboration and a possible street closing ordinance for 56th Street.

Clerical Workers Win First Union Contract at CTS

Karen McCann organized District 65 to form a CTS clerical workers union at the Chicago Theological Seminary. Negotiations began in October 1975 and the contract, signed last month, gives a $15.50 raise, full medical coverage, and employer paid major medical bills for the entire family.
