City seeks 198680 planning funds for Hyde Park renewal
The city filed for 198 680 dollars in preliminary planning funds to develop an overall renewal plan for the 47th to 59th corridor from Cottage Grove to the Lake. Planning will run eight months, exclude the University of Chicago campus, be administered by the Community Conservation Board, and involve the South East Chicago Commission Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference and the University of Chicago.

The plan, led by Newton C. Farr and Frank Moran, mobilizes 75 plus contracts across steam cleaning, repairs, landscaping, painting, and security upgrades.
