County roads face opening delays as spring breakup damages gravel and blacktop routes. Highway Commissioner LaVern Kohn plans to enforce weight limits on gravel and blacktop roads, noting heavy trucks cause breaks. A small crew currently works while replacements may be added in coming weeks if weather allows.

Mrs. John Neider died Monday at age 60. Born Anna Zimmerman July 15 1879, she married John Neider July 21 1898. Survived by husband four daughters Elena Juneau Cynthia Mrs Wallace Schultz four sons Gilbert Ashland Marvin John and four grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church conducted by Rev Theodore Eggers. Buried Hustisford Cemetery.

Charleo Tex Stone of Dallas, aged 39, using a bow and arrow, killed a 220 pound male mountain lion in the Fort Devis mountains. He claims to have killed 400 wild animals since 1929 across multiple continents, all at ranges under 35 yards. Stone ties the ancient weapon to lower damage to specimens.
