Stuart W. Wells of Waldo fell asleep at the wheel and overturned a 5000 gallon gas truck on highway 19 near Watertown. Over 3000 gallons spilled as Wells escaped with minor injuries through a broken cabin window while city crews, led by Street Commissioner George Shepherd, worked to light the damaged vehicle. The load was destined for a Watertown distributor.
