Two Deaths Reported Within Week In Local Area

Mrs Dellie Irene Hazen nee Mickelson widow of George Hazen died Friday night at her Huron home after a three day illness from acute appendicitis She was 18 years 11 months and 3 days She lay in state in Miller after a special train burial followed in Miller cemetery The Miller funeral at the opera house drew many Huron Brookings Sioux Falls friends Reverend A O Swartwood preached a sermon on life in Christ noting eternal life through faith She had joined the Huron Baptist Church and was deeply religious Surviving are her husband her parents two sisters and four brothers with several relatives in Sioux Falls St Paul Minneapolis and Minneapolis area were named in the notice Meanwhile Charles Brown a longtime Huron resident died after a week long typhoid fever His funeral was held at Grace Episcopal Church on Nebraska Street

Great Northern to Lay Rails and Build New Passenger Depot

The Great Northern is loading rails on cars at St Paul for shipment and will begin laying rail anew next week with the construction of a handsome passenger depot. The pressed brick and sandstone building will cost about 15 dollars and sit about 100 feet back from the avenue. Frankfort News Messenger reports A C Johnson and family of Winona visited on a special car, planning a private park at the ranch. Two deer have arrived and two more are en route, with a buffalo promised by Scotty Philip to enhance the park and ranch grounds.
