Coach McDonald said Huntley did not play well in the first half, suffering minus six yards and trailing 26 0 at the break. Schmittendorf’s 46 yard run was the lone bright spot as Genoa scored on a punt return and a pass interception for touchdowns. McHenry County Board Cuts 1970 Budget Items
McHenry County supervisors on September 11 trimmed the 1970 budget by removing three items from the Department of Health and a proposed raise for John Quay head of the Planning Commission. Total cuts reached about 12000 dollars while the chairman Willert Russel will increase to 12000 dollars annually. A tax fund for courthouse construction and related needs was approved with a separate public vote. An amendment for Valley Hi Nursing Home failed 13 to 14.
