Redskins Open Season with 20 0 Win in Muddy Contest
The Huntley Redskins defeated North Boone 20-0 in the season opener played last Friday amid a rain soaked field. Larry Rasmusen, Dennis Enstromend, and Barry Benner scored touchdowns with Rasmusen adding two extra points as Huntley built a lead in the first half. North Boone threatened in the third quarter but Huntley’s defense held.

School Board Maintains Budget Amid September Meeting
The School Board continued the Sept 8 1965 meeting on Sept 15 1965 at 7 15 PM with Lamb and Mackeben absent. It approved the 1965 66 annual budget and levy totaling 312 500 and raised the Education fund tax from 1 40 to 1 60 and transportation from 0 02 to 0 08 under House Bill 1004. The board adjourned to Sept 21 1965 at 7 30 PM.

The Junior Class of Marion Central sponsors a countywide car wash on Saturday September 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Schreinder's Standard Service in McHenry Frame's Phillip 66 in Woodstock old National Tea Parking Lot in Harvard Texaco in Crystal Lake and State Gas in Marengo. A lightning sparked fire at the O. W. Shaw farm last Friday evening September 17 destroyed a barn full of hay. Huntley police alerted firefighters as heavy rain and crowds slowed response. no damage estimate given.
