Huntley School Board reviews growth plans and approves budget

The September 9 1964 meeting of Dist 158 Board of Education approved the annual budget levies and revolving fund for 1964 65 discussed village growth planning maps and future bond issues with Bonding Co of Bald man and Main of Chicago represented by Marvin Birchfield. Bradley and Bradley reported on safety survey repairs and addition needs while IBM clock upgrades were proposed. Anticipation warrants of 50000 were approved and Standard Oil Co awarded the gasoline bid. CONTINUED ON PAGE THREE.

Huntley United Church of Christ Celebrates Centennial

Centennial celebration marks 100 years since Huntley UCC formed in 1852 and 1864 church dedication. Mortgage burning planned after 1987 expansion completion with Rev. Kerr guest speaker and social hall gala. Services include rededication and communion as history from Elgin church ties highlighted.

PTA Meeting Opens 1964‑65 Season in School Cafeteria

The Parent Teachers Association kicked off the 1964 65 season with 90 members present at 8 00 P M on September 9 1964 in the school cafeteria. Dr Garry Gray was installed as President along with new officers Mrs Wayne Donahue Mrs David Rudy and Mr Richard Johnson. Gray outlined goals for the year and members pledged support. The October 14 program date was announced by Program Chairman Mrs Arthur Hensel.

Little Conference Raises Athletic Ticket Prices for 1964 65

The Little Conference hikes football and basketball prices for the 1964 65 school year. To keep home game access affordable, high school and adult season tickets are offered this year. The Little League banquet is planned for Saturday night September 19 at 7 30 P M. The event will be held at the Huntley Fire Station and invites all league members and families.

Chief Nelson Warns Residents on Check Cashing

Huntley Police Chief Richard Nelson warns residents and merchants to never cash checks for strangers and to verify all recipients personally. He notes blank bank drafts were stolen from Chicago Northwestern Railway at Earlville and cashed across the region, with incidents in Marengo Huntley Chicago Kenosha Dekesh and Sheboygan areas.
