Huntley District 158 board met August 25 1977 at Huntley High School. Absentees included Mr Zirk until 8:30 PM secretary pro tem Kay Pawl elected. Actions: correct minutes, approve high school credits policy, adopt attendance policy, executive session for volleyball coach candidates, approve Penny Riedl early graduation, accept Donald Perry and Henry Wormiel resignations, approve Carol Van Bogeart as 6th grade language arts teacher. Eagle Scout Tony Korwin of Huntley earns a State Public Affairs Scholarship for his second year at Eastern Illinois University chosen by Rep. Cal Skinner Jr. He helped lead student efforts against tuition hikes, served on the student senate, aided a Red Cross drive, joined Bible study, and announced for campus radio. He was named 1976 Young American by the Rockford Register-Star.
