Huntley students and teachers may attend the funeral of Mr Heine Ream on September 4. School will dismiss at 1 30 Thursday and the teachers workshop will be completed that afternoon. Regular hours resume Friday.
A special farm broadcast airs Sunday September 7 at 8 30 P M on Chanel 60 from Aurora. The 60 minute program reviews farm prices. Also note an auction hosted by the Music Boosters on Sunday October 28 encouraging attic and basement item donations.
Huntley varsity football slate lists away opener at Hiawatha on Sept 12 and Sept 19 at Genoa. Home events host Mooseheart Sept 26 and Hampshire Oct 19. Central Homecoming Oct 10 and Earlville away Oct 31. Richmond home Nov 8 and Hebron on an unspecified date.

St John's United Church of Christ of Harmony will dedicate a new organ on Sunday September 7 at 10 30 A M. Paul Wage a Milwaukee concert organist engaged by Baldwin Organ Company will perform for the dedication with Richard Trendage of the Cary Fine Arts Center representing the Organ Company. Pastor Edward Heine notes expression to music as part of worship. Members and friends and the public are invited. A family pot luck follows the service with families bringing a dish and their own table service.
Lester M. Ream 60 of 38 Sunset Drive Huntley died Monday at Memorial Hospital in Woodstock after a brief illness. Born September 9 1908 in Hampshire he was son of Edgar and Mary Miller Ream and married Beatrice F Hemenway July 15 1936. He belonged to Woodstock Elks Huntley Fire Department and ran Heine's Tap in Huntley. Surviving are widow Beatrice son Edgar four grandchildren mother Mary Ream two brothers Ralph and Maurice. Burial in Belvidere Memorial Gardens Belvidere with services Thursday at James A O Connor Funeral Home Huntley. Memorial fund for Deicke Park Swimming Pool.
The County Board of Supervisors approved a 4,523,813 budget at a special session on Monday August 25. The plan exceeds last year's 3,840,000 and may rely on state and federal matching funds for certain services. The Health Department shows strong self funding, while major allocations fund salaries such as 1 500 000 for a new courthouse and 500 000 for Valley Hi expansion.
