Vehicle sticker sale announced for Huntley Village Hall
Chief Richard Nelson announced stickers are on sale now through February at Huntley Village Hall. A March 1, 1973 penalty will be charged for unreserved stickers, and residents without stickers risk a traffic citation. Contact Chief Nelson to reserve a specific sticker number.

WM Bell Telephone Proposes Illinois Rate Increases
WM Bell Telephone asks the Illinois Commerce Commission to approve rate changes that would raise annual revenues by 20.8 million dollars. Most increases are not residential or business base rates but affect extensions, Touch-Tone, FX lines, PBX, Centrex, and dormitory services. The tariffs would take effect December 22. President Charles L. Brown notes the commission found a 7.33 percent fair return, while current earnings are 6.90 percent, pledging to maintain reliable service amid inflation.

Huntley youth center project preserves one alley
In 1956 Bowl Hi Lanes closed and the upstairs grocery area left as is. Mr Purdom bought the building and, with council help two weeks ago, began removing three alleys while keeping one alley and old pin setting machines. A youth guided crew plans a student union style center with donated items and hopes for the youths use.

The Lions Club grade school Christmas party is set for December 19 at the grade school. The American Legion Auxiliary hosts a pot luck dinner and Christmas party on December 4 at the Legion Home with a 6:30 gift exchange.

Monday features hamburger on bun with buttered kernel corn chips, milk and condiments. Tuesday serves fried chicken, mashed potatoes, buttered green beans, bread, fruit, milk. Wednesday offers Italian spaghetti, salad, Russian dressing, bread, yellow cake with chocolate frosting, milk. Thursday includes chili and crackers with peanut butter jelly or ham sandwiches, vegetables, dessert, milk. Friday serves orange juice, macaroni and cheese, green beans, bread, cookies, milk.
Huntley Shoe Bop fundraiser supports Redskins fans
In November Huntley Shoe Bop will donate one dollar for each shoe sale at eight ninety five or more. Customers can register for a free pair under twenty dollars. A December first drawing selects winners. remaining slips fund the boosters club and donor names appear in the December seventh Farmside.
