New Rescue Vehicle In Service In Huntley District
Edward Piske, president of the Huntley Fire Protection District, hands the keys to the new Huntley Emergency and Rescue unit to Fire Chief Phil Freund and Captain Norman Zimmerman. The Springfield Equipment Company supplied the demonstrator unit bought for 4051 dollars. Chief Freund says its new cost is about 14200 dollars and should fetch 13000 dollars. The vehicle serves emergency and rescue work across Kane County areas including Grafton Township Algonquin and Coral Townships and Huntley village with no usage charge within the district. It is not an ambulance for patient transport to hospitals.

At a November 26 meeting the Huntley and nearby districts voted 6 to 0 to join McHenry County College District No 528. Surveys showed seniors favor MCC 3 to 1 over Elgin, and upperclassmen support MCC 2 to 1 over Elgin. The motion passed with noted absences and formal resolutions drafted.

A Philco Color Television was won by Orville Kroth ticket 173 sold by Richard Stallbaum. Liquor donations were auctioned or given away, with the top bid for V.O. liquor at $2100 by Charlie Conley.
