Neighbors Help Frederick Diedrick Harvest Corn on Farm
Neighbors gathered at Frederick Diedrick’s farm to harvest 25 acres of corn last Thursday. Diedrick remains in hospital after inhaling silage gas that worsened an asthma condition, sidelining him from work. Local workers included Harry Isenhart, Harvey Lane, Ronald Frohling, Emil Workowski, Herman Schultz, W Plane, Philip Plane, Herman Albrecht and Wesley Diedrick. Huntley High to Present Man Overboard Comedy Mystery
The Senior Class of Huntley High School stages a three act comedy mystery titled Man Overboard on Saturday November 16 at 8 00 p m. Miss Hannah Blair chaperone and a wide cast including Barbara Britton Henry Van Cleve Gary Borhart Darryl Reeves Tom Harting and many more participate as teenagers deck hands college students and staff in a tale of four troubles and a secret government papers plot. The play is presented with permission from the Art Craft Play Company Cedar Rapids Iowa.

Minimum Tillage Demonstration by Huntley FFA Chapter
The Huntley F F A field day in November 1963 compared conventional and minimum tillage on seven corn plots A to E with three comparisons B C and D E. Minimum tillage yielded more than conventional in several plots while weed control via Abrazine reduced weed pressure in those plots. Moisture and price per bushel favored minimum tillage at 20.5 percent moisture and 98 cents versus 22 percent and 95 cents for conventional.

Lions Club Trap Shoot Draws Strong Attendance
The ninth annual Lions Club Trap Shoot on November 10 drew unprecedented attendance. All tickets and shells sold as members discuss using proceeds for community services such as youth events, field lighting, eye testing at school, and uniforms.
