The United Church of Congregational in Hantl installed Theke as pastor in a 7 30 p m service on Sunday November 6. The service was led by Rev Charles E Randle and Rev Walter W Bloesch with sermon by Rev James D Stimehelfer. The chancel choir sang Blessing and Glory by Rachmaninoff and a coffee hour followed. A 6 o’clock buffet supper served 45 guests from out of town and church trustees and deacons attended.

Huntley Credit Union Schedules Special Meeting On 15 Percent Cut
The Huntley Community Credit Union announces a special board action on October 25 to deduct 15 percent of member shares as of that date and move funds to a Special Reserve to cover a capital deficiency of 69 675.45 dollars. A special shareholder meeting is set for Friday November 18 at 8 p m in the American Legion Hall.

Veterans Day parade and memorial services in Huntley
The Huntley American Legion Post 673 invites the Auxiliary and interested residents to observe Veterans Day. All marchers assemble at the school by 10:00 a.m. School bands may join the parade if weather allows. The parade leaves at 10:20 to the Legion home for memorial services.

Hemmer Barn Fire Destroys Landmark Near Huntley
A barn at the Peral Hemmer residence west of Huntley burned to the ground around 5:20 a.m. on November 2, destroying machinery, soybeans and hay. Built in 1918 by George Hemmer and wife, the structure belonged to Pearl and Joseph Hemmer and their deceased brother Ermond. The Huntley Fire Department also fought a separate blaze at William Seeman’s farm nearby and responded to grass and cornfield fires later in the week.
