Elgin Community College awarded degrees and certificates to 441 graduates on May 23. Of these, 151 were cited for scholastic honors with a 3.49 cumulative GPA. The Honors List included 109 students and noted Paul A. Mattingly among Hunt key honorees.

Huntley junior high and high school staged a varied concert in the grade school gym. Performances included chorus, band, solos and ensembles with notable numbers by Mitch Parisek Greg Stroupe and Dave Hill and a musical Oliver piece by Melanie Eckman and D Keith Brown. Debbie Lovins and Phil Donahue shared the Paul Donahue Award and Gail Wein won a 19 inch Zenith color TV in the high school raffle. A faculty act featuring Moylan McMahon Manning and McDonaldovich closed the show to lively applause.

Auxiliary News Recaps May Meeting of 11 Past Presidents
On Monday May 12 11 past presidents of the American Legion Auxiliary gathered at Mrs Bernice Bakleys home. Carpet rags were prepared to be turned into rags sold by the Unit with payments to the men. Mrs Arnold Chesak led sewing and the Chesak family contributed as secretary and minutes reader. A picnic is planned at Dtecke Park on June 12.
