Hobo Dinner Delights Community Choir Fundraiser
The Hobo Dinner staged by the choir and helpers drew a sold out audience on Saturday February 25 at the United Church of Christ Social Hall. Two shows at 5 46 p.m. and 7 45 p.m. featured acts led by Carl Hill with performers including Freddie and Frieda Free loader and Hilda Hobo. Generous donations from local sponsors and a Hampshire State Bank contribution supported the event.

Huntley Village Board accepted the resignation of Chief John Roth, effective March 15, as he moves to a higher salary position with K-Mart. Roth had replaced Richard Nelson on August 1, 1965 after Nelson served as chief from June 15, 1963 to August 1, 1965. Nelson, with 30 years in Chicago police, rose to sergeant before joining Huntley.

A new restaurant named The Village Inn opened this week on Main Street Huntley next to the State Bank. It replaces a former Cey Inc site and nearby shops.
