Grafton Township Board meeting notes and actions
The Grafton Township Board of Auditors met June 10 at the township garage with all members present. They reduced May relief payments and reviewed eliminations of nonessential items, housing conditions, and planned condemnation of uninhabitable homes. A septic truck owner was contacted to remove it, and drainage district and precinct re-districting were discussed. Mayor Wilpault Brill fractured a vertebra after a June 12 scaffold fall, was treated locally, and remained under care through June 22 before returning home.

Grafton Park Beach Announces Four Week Swimming Program
Grafton Park Beach will start a four week swimming program on July seventh. An adult night class may be added if enrollment is sufficient. Resident fee is one dollar and non resident fee is three dollars. Registration runs June 28 to July 2 at the beach. Robert Seavers is the manager.

Bell Telephone cuts long distance rates in Illinois
A new schedule of within state long distance rates became effective last Saturday June 19 according to Illinois Bell Telephone manager D R Lagner. Customers will save about 2 million annually as reduced rates extend longer hours. Continued on page two.
