Huntley Legion Joint Installation Held At American Legion Home
The Huntley American Legion and Auxiliary conducted a joint installation of officers on July 21 at the American Legion Home in Huntley Illinois. County Commander Will Carlson served as installing officer with Rudy Berg as Sergeant at Arms. New officers include Commander Stanley Koch Sr Vice Charles Lamb Jr Vice Don Enstrea m Adjutant Robert Eckman Finance Officer Phillip Randazzo Chaplain John Goehl Sergeant at Arms and Service Officer John Goehl. Auxiliary officers include County President Mrs Winifred Hammond and installing officers and musicians from Huntley Fox River Grove and surrounding areas. A Kosher beef lunch followed along with a community dance.

Polio Season Declared By Doctor In Huntley Illinois
Dr. E S Hernandez of Huntley Illinois today announced polio season is at its peak. He urged residents who have not had three initial inoculations to see a doctor immediately and obtain them. He also advised boosters after a year and then annually thereafter.

Ameri Legion Auxiliary meeting to attend state convention
Mrs. Mabel Schultz, Unit No. 673 president elect, will attend the State Annual Convention of the American Legion Auxiliary in Chicago at the Morrison Hotel on August 2 to 4. Five $375 scholarships for senior girls entering nurses training highlighted by a sizable Craft Exchange donation to defray costs. Luncheon for Gold Star members August 3 and Unit Dinner August 4 with National President Mrs. J. Howard McKay as guest. State President Mrs. Charles C. Shaw will preside and delegates vote for Illinois officers and national delegates for Las Vegas convention October 8 to 11. Schultz and Unit President Elect Chesak will report in September.

Miss Renate Kuestner learned last Friday July 17 that she won a four year teacher scholarship. She has two years in the honor society and is from Huntley High School. She will attend Northern Illinois University at DeKalb this fall starting September 9.
