Dedication of Huntley Parsonage Marks Groundbreaking
The United Church of Christ Congregation in Huntley Illinois held a ground breaking ceremony for a new parsonage at 209 North Church Street. Reverend Lawrence Perkins led the service with church leaders and committee members in attendance. The two story frame colonial includes nine rooms and 21 5 baths on an 80 by 170 foot lot. Builders Don Zimmerman of Woodstock and local committees outlined plans and funding aims. The event featured prayers readings and the turning of a symbolic shovel with a power backhoe finalizing the earth turning.

Bakley Buys Gravel Pit for Crystal Lake Service Expansion
Kenneth Bakley of Huntley, with over twenty years in excavating, purchased the James Lodefoged Gravel Pit 314 miles west of Crystal Lake off Route 14. He plans to extend his cracked road gravel supply and competitive pricing to Crystal Lake, continuing his Huntley service.

On Monday June 25 the Mc Henry Courty Sadan 483 8 and 40 held their Annual news at Veterans Acres in Crystal Lake. The husbands were guests. Arrangements were made by Mes dames Henry Cowlin Sr and Mr Thomas Alvis. After the cook out Mrs Arnold Chesak Chapeau of the Salon conducted a short meeting. Sidewalk Repairs Underway Across Town
Several new sidewalk sections are being constructed around the town to replace aging walks. Repairs cover Main St in front of United Church of Christ, Woodstock St by St Mary's, Myrtle St near Mill, Grove St by Mill, and Church St near the Lutheran Church. Funding comes from the General Fund based on tax-derived footage. City maintains sidewalks after private installation. Night walking cautioned due to barricades in construction zones.
