Northern Illinois endured a severe ice storm last Saturday January 23. Huntley saw multiple power outages with brief restorations and extended outages into the evening. Rural areas suffered downed poles while residents sought shelter in churches schools and homes.
Jay cee dance at Bowl-Hi Lanes January 30 at 9 PM with Mel Elliott Trio. Boy Scouts Sunday service February 7 at United Church of Christ Congregational. Cubs and Scouts invited. February 26 Stay at Legion at 8:30 PM.
The Huntley Adult Farmers class meets tonight in the Ag room at Huntley Consolidated School. A Dairy Housing specialist from Honegger Feed Co will discuss dairy housing and the latest on Loose Stall Housing. The Feb 4 session will cover Material Handling in the Farm.
The Huntley Letterman's Club sponsors two wheelchair basketball games at Huntley High School gym on Saturday February 6 1965 starting at 7 30 PM. Teams include Huntley Jaycees and faculty versus Chicago Sidewinders with proceeds split 45 55 between Chicagoland Sidewinders and the H Club to fund a whirlpool bath. advance tickets available at the school office and local shops.
The Huntley Community Credit Union held its 14th annual dinner meeting at the Huntley American Legion Home with about 100 attendees. President Delwin Barhart reviewed 1963 and 1964 financials, noting a 25.5 percent expense drop and 21 percent net profit rise, plus a dividend pending Department of Finance approval.
