A pot luck farewell dinner honors Rev Dr Robert Frank at the 1st Congregational Church social hall this Sunday January 30. He has led the Huntley church since 1966 and plans to continue teaching at McHenry County College while remaining in Huntley.
Ed Hare son of Mr and Mrs James Hare of Huntley is the 1977 Sons of the American Revolution Award winner. He was chosen by high school faculty after senior class nominations. He is National Honor Society member, Student Council President and class officer. He plans to attend McHenry County College after graduation.
Luanne Schachtner daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Schachtner Grove Street Huntley was chosen 1977 DAR Award winner after nominations by the senior class The award recognizes dependability cooperation leadership and patriotism She is an Illinois State Scholar and plans to study physical education at Illinois State University next fall Meanwhile a two vehicle crash on Rt 47 near Huntley left Miss Everett injured and ticket issued for bad road conditions.
January 17 1977 meeting in the High School Library discusses finances with Illinois School Consulting Service. Board votes on seating changes tax referendum survey and staff cuts with multiple motions carried. Executive session from 10 50 to 11 30 p m precedes adjournment.
The menu lists daily meals for a school week. Monday features hamburgers with buttered corn and chocolate pudding. Tuesday offers hot dogs pork and beans and peanut butter cookies. Wednesday serves meat loaf with mashed potatoes spinach and applesauce. Thursday presents lasagna buttered green beans bread and peach upside down cake. Friday provides orange juice tuna noodle casserole mixed vegetables bread and oatmeal cookies.
