McHenry County Life Underwriters to Receive Charter
The McHenry County Association of Life Underwriters will receive its charter on Thursday evening January 21 at the Timbers Restaurant Woodstock at the Route 14 and 47 intersection A representative of the National Association of Life Underwriters will present the charter Illinois Association of Life Underwriters State membership chairman Robert Beadles from Springfield will be present The group has 47 charter members and invites all life underwriters in the county to join Spotlight includes 1971 72 officers led by President Elmer Luepke and a slate of vice presidents secretary and directors from Woodstock Harvard Crystal Lake Huntley and McHenry.

Illinois Bell Telephone Company supplied Huntley Elementary School with a telephone learning kit, film strips, a movie, and a teletrain for 3rd grade use. On January 14 a installer spoke to 3rd graders about his job. Mrs Paydon of Illinois Bell addressed 7th graders on job opportunities and on January 18 presented an Illinois History slide program to 8th graders.

Huntley Water Shutdown Causes Flow Reversal Citywide
Huntley residents lost water briefly last Tuesday due to an undetected break in a water main. The rupture drained the tower and forced a switch to the new well, reversing water flow and causing rusty-tinted supply until repairs to the pipe and old pump are completed. The Water Department works to restore normal pressure and asks for residents’ patience.
