The Huntley Shamrocks edged Union 63 to 37 at the Huntley school gym Friday night December 29. Formed last October with Huntley Community Credit Union sponsorship the team draws players from Huntley and nearby areas and has a 3-7 record after 10 games in the Illinois Amateur Basketball League.

Directors of the Huntley Community Credit Union met to plan the 11th annual dinner to be held Thursday January 18. Raymond J. Kelley the treasurer said twenty five awards valued from 1 to 5 dollars would be presented. The American Legion Auxiliary serves the dinner at 7 30 p.m. with Mrs. Robert Schultz chairing the event. President Delwin Barhart will conduct the business meeting and officer reports will follow. Established 1950 by civic minded citizens and Emil Meyer and Raymond J. Kelley.

The first farm management course meets Thursday January 4 at 8 p.m. in the agriculture room with Stan ley Corrie of McHenry County Assessments to explain farm assessments. A soils and fertilizer course starts Tuesday January 9 at 8 p.m. to study Illinois soils and provide each farmer a detailed soil map and usage guidance.
