Dr. J. P. Ostrander discusses herd health and producing quality milk at the 9th Adult Farmer class meeting. The session aims to aid dairy farmers with milk quality problems and will be held Thursday Feb 28 at 8 00 p m in Huntley High School Agr Dept.
The Junior Class presents By The Dozen a three act comedy on March 29. The play, adapted from Cheaper By The Dozen by Frank B Gilbreth Jr and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey, follows lively family misadventures made famous by the novel and film adaptations.
Police report that Car 39 calling $1,000 has been turned in for 1963 vehicle stickers up to date. After March 1 the price rises by .50 as a delinquency penalty. Over 45 tag tax tags issued. owners have until April 1 to secure the required tax tags.
The United Church of Christ Congregational Huntley urges donations of clothing blankets shoes and money for refugees overseas with a deadline Monday March 11 and a Blanket Sunday observance on Sunday March 10 requiring each worshipper to bring a blanket and a quarter.
The Huntley FFA Chapter held its annual banquet at the Lutheran Church with 110 in attendance. Terry Henning presided as president, panels covered hog loans daily loans and the freshman hog project, plus land project and carcass grading talks. Awards honored Allen Heimsoth, Terry Henning, Alan Avang and several who aided the chapter.
In attendance were school board members past honorary members and F F A advisory board members. Mr Kelly attended and gave a brief speech. The meeting was then adjourned.
Richard Enstrom village clerk lists Emil Meyer Ernest Fitzi Leonard Ackman Donald Heinz Richard Staab as candidates for village board trustee election set for April 16.
The Huntley Zoning Board met at Village Hall to hear Illinois Bell Telephone Company’s bid to enlarge facilities on Man Street between Grove and Myrtle. Residents objected to rezoning from residential to business. no action was taken and the hearing was continued to March 1, 1963.
Wayne Miller of the State Bank of Huntley urges households to use safe deposit boxes during National Safe Deposit Week. He lists birth certificates titles bonds citizenship papers deeds wills tax records and marriage certificates as essential documents to store securely. He notes boxes cost less than a penny daily and are kept in bank vaults alongside cash and securities.
