Huntley Board of Education Terms Expire in 1972 Election
Two board members Miss Ida Mackeben and Ronald Jirik will complete their terms at the annual Huntley school board election set for Saturday April 8 1972 from noon to 7 p.m. Mackeben will not seek re election. Feb 23 is first filing day for seven member boards. March 17 is last day. Petitions available from Ernest Stading Jr at 214 Woodstock St Huntley Illinois 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon–Sat.

Bell Telephone Improves Service and Seeks Rate Increase
Illinois Bell reports 1971 construction spend around 381 million dollars the second year over a million daily to expand and improve service. Local taxes in Huntley were 5792 dollars wages paid 51600 and five unions covered 31000 employees. The company seeks a 182 million general rate increase with hearings underway as inflation pressures persist.

Betty Ahrens Speaks At Bankers Association Panel
Betty Ahrens of the State Bank of Huntley spoke at the DuKane DeKalb chapter Bank Administration Institute panel in Naperville Country Club on February 15 addressing the responsibilities of junior and senior bank officers. The national group includes over 8,000 member banks and the Naperville meeting drew over 120 bankers.

Girl Scouts International Food Fest Honors Thinking Day
The Huntley Girl Scouts hosted an International Food Fest at the Congregational Church on Saturday February 19 from 1 30 to 3 p m. The event featured dishes from Ireland Austria Hawaii Holland Mexico Japan and France with costumes songs dances and country displays as the girls sampled each offering in a Thinking Day tribute.

Blue and Gold Banquet for Huntley Pack 167 Held
Huntley Pack 167 held its annual Blue and Gold Banquet on February 17 at the First Congregational Church. About 190 Cub Scouts plus family and guests attended a pot luck dinner and a showing of Illinois Bell’s High Road of Illinois. Awards and badges were presented to multiple dens including den leaders and Webelos, with several Cubs earning pins, arrows, and citizen awards.
