Truck Through House Shatters Hampshire Family Home
Pictures show the Hanna Wilkins residence on Route 20 near Hamp shire after a semi bound south toward Elgin struck the side and tore through the home at about 3 AM Friday February 2. Eight family members slept inside as Herbert Kunde 55 Norma 48 and three sons Duryl 20 Dale 17 and Douglas 13 were thrown to the truck top. Continued on page two.

Annual Huntley Grade School Tournament Underway
The 18th annual Huntley Lions Club grade school tournament runs now with finals scheduled for Tuesday February 13 at 8 30 PM and Wednesday February 14 at 6 PM. Participating teams include St Pat s Hamp shire Woodstock St Thomas St Lawrence St Joseph s St Mary s and Huntley across fifth sixth seventh and eighth grades. Preliminary playoffs occurred from Monday to Wednesday this week.

Huntley Village Board Holds Regular Meet
The Huntley Village Board met February 1 in Village Hall. President Enstrom, clerk Bontrom, and trustees Ackman O Conner Olhaber and Cole were present. Zimmerman was absent. Attorney Caldwell provided legal counsel in his brother Michael's absence. The board reviewed minutes and the Treasurer's report and heard the School Board recommendations from Ronald Jirik and LeRoy Marks.
