Huntley wins over Genoa 50 to 31 to capture the Little Eight Conference Tournament amid a lively finish. The Redskins build a 19 7 lead after the first period and maintain pressure with strong free throw shooting in the final period.
The Lincoln Park Farm at the Zoo welcomed a herd of Ayrshire cows donated by the Milk Foundation. The loaned group includes a heifer bull two calves and six cows from Illinois and Wisconsin dairy farms. Visitors can watch milking at 10 am 12 noon and 2 pm daily.
Mr Don Rodgers will speak on soil fertility and fertilizers at the adult evening class meeting Thursday at 8 00 p m. The session will be held at the High School with the topics covering soil fertility and fertilizer use.
The Huntley School annual winter concert will be held Saturday February 5 at 8:00 p.m. in the gym. All band members from fifth grade to high school will perform under Robert Tirk, while chorus from seventh to high school sings under Mrs. Bernard Johnson. Music Boosters assist with tickets programs and publicity.
The Home Economics Adult Sewing class begins Monday Feb 7 from 7 to 9 pm at Huntley High School with a 10 week span. Miss Alice Meyer conducts the sewing course. an additional Modern Mathematics class will be led by Mr Ed Ream starting Tuesday Feb 10 1966 requiring five enrollees.
A compact list of community events from February 3 to 26 includes Adult Education Farm Management on Thursday, February 3 at 8 p.m. Basketball at Carmel on Friday, February 4 at 7 p.m. Winter Concert by High School band and choruses on February 5 at 8 p.m. American Legion Auxiliary and Firemen advisory meeting at school on February 7. Lions Club and Scouts event on February 8. Grade school basketball Hero Huntley versus St Joe on February 9. Sweetheart Dance at Legion Home on February 12. 8th Annual Hobo Dinner at 5:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on February 26.
