Santa Claus arrives December 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Village Square for Huntley preschool through sixth grade. He crowns the Snow Princess and Prince, then moves to Congregational Church Social Hall for entertainment, refreshments, and gifts.
The Village Board met December 1 1977 in the Village Hall with President Enstrom and Trustees Ac kman Frank Stroupe Lohneis Mercer Eisenmenger present. Bids for water main extension were opened and Bakley Construction was recommended awarded the low bid of 23525.91 pending engineer review. Further bids were listed and another award to Bakley was discussed with performance bonds required. The board directed street work on Church Street and stressed contractor coordination with village engineers to ensure specifications are met. Continued on Page 2.
Huntley seniors are invited to a Christmas Party on Friday December 16 with 12 30 p.m. dinner and after dinner entertainment by Huntley Swing Choir at 3 15 p.m. Santa will attend and rides or centerpiece decorations are requested. Calls after 5 p.m. to Louise Kreutzer or Dorothy Schaller for transportation and attendance confirmation.
Santa's Fund hosts the Snow Princess and Prince Contest for ages 3 through 7 at the Christmas Party. Crowning happens at the Village Square by Santa Claus, then they reign over the Congregational Church Social Hall event. Ballot boxes at local stores allow multiple entries for eligible children.
Huntley area students are invited to a roller skating party on Thursday December 22 from 7:00 to 9:30 pm at McHenry Roller Rink McHenry Illinois. A bus from Village Square at 6:15 pm will transport those without rides and return about 10:15 pm. Admission is free for skating and shoes for students and chaperones. parents admitted free but pay skate rental. Posters at schools sign up.
On December 15 Huntley schools will dismiss at 2 22 P M to give staff time for curriculum matters. Huntley Lions Club held its Christmas Party December 3 at the Huntley American Legion Hall with 73 attendees. Legion Auxiliary served turkey dinner with trimmings followed by a gift exchange and dancing to The Prof's until 12 20 A M.
Mrs LeRoy Marks organist and The Choralettes present a Christmas program of organ and choral music at Wesley Methodist Church Elgin on Sunday December 11 at 8 00 p m Langlais Dupre Bach and Vierne provide organ selections while The Choralettes sing varied Christmas pieces The event aims to reflect the season's wonder and joy
