Senior Band and Chorus Concert at Huntley High School
Huntley High School hosts its Senior Band and Chorus concert on Friday May 1 1964 in the school gym. The 24 piece Senior Concert Band performs works by Ployhar Olivadoti Carter Rachmaninoff Kinyon Gates and more and the 29 member Senior Chorus opens with Sty le and performs spirituals dances marches and selections from Bach Mendelssohn and Kismet. Music Lyre Awards pins and service bars will be presented during the evening.

Mrs Arnold Chesak of McHenry County Schools will retire at term end after 41 years. An Open House honoring her will be held May 17 from 1 to 4 PM at Greenwood School in Greenwood Illinois. Attendees include students, colleagues, relatives and friends.

An export shipment of 21 registered Holstein dairy cattle aged under 14 years was consigned to the Division de Investigaciones Agropecuarias in Bogota Colombia. The sale was coordinated by M B Nichols of St Charles Illinois with participation from multiple Illinois breeders. The Holstein market has grown, with foreign buyers increasing purchases and U S herds valued for quality breeding stock.

Rohlwing Attends AAL President's Club in St Louis
Wilmer J. Rohlwing from Huntley attended the 1964 President's Club convention for Aid Association for Lutherans at the Chase Park Hotel in St Louis from April 23 to 27. Larry Johnson Joins Holstein-Friesian Association
Larry F. Johnson of Huntley Illinois gained membership in the Holstein-Friesian Association of America based in Brattleboro Vermont. Qualifying junior members must be under 21, complete one year in a dairy project, own at least one registered Holstein in their name, and may not vote. Nearly 37,000 young Holstein breeders have participated since 1923.

F F A News Huntley Chapter Officers Training and Banquet
The Huntley Chapter officers will attend training at North Boone High School on May 7, 1964. A banquet for the boys will be held at the Capron Legion Home at 6 30 that evening. The chapter praises Delwin Barhart for planting their oats crop. Dale Roesstein holds the 56 day litter weight record with 15 pigs averaging 46.9 pounds totaling 702 pounds at eight weeks.

Supervisors Willard Russel Lea Bemke and Roscoe Glen were named to a seven member county Extension Board once Farm Advisor duties advising farmers on pest control fertilizers and crops. Stern Nunda noted a 2200 evergreen trees per acre planted on his land now a fine evergreen forest. Rosenthal Algonquin asked the county cost of the matched Federal project and 4H support. Wingate McHenry cited last year’s allotment near 1200 dollars with one dollar county match.
