Cindy McCollum Girl of Huntley Heads to Illini Girls State
Cindy McCollum, a 16 year old from Huntley Unit No 673, will attend Illini Girls State at MacMurray College Jacksonville Illinois from June 13 to 20 1972. She is the delegate of American Legion Auxiliary and works part time as a nurse s aide at Woodstock Memorial Hospital. The five member family includes Mr and Mrs Donald McCollum sister Connie 14 Lori 11 and Cindy 16. Cindy has participated in bags chorus Latin Club cheerleading girls volleyball Health Club and GAA during high school and plans training in health fields possibly nursing. She has church involvement with Walther League Senior Choir Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. The project is described as A Project in Good Citizenship.

Open House Events At Medical Center And Country Club
The Huntley Medical Center Board says an open house will be held Sunday April 23 from 11 am to 4 pm at the Medical Center on Algonquin Road to meet new doctor Dr Guevera who starts April 17 and to meet Dr James O Fauchlin who has practiced dentistry at the center. Dr Guevera will join Woodstock Memorial Hospital St Joseph Hospital Elgin and Sherman Hospital staff. Also Sunday April 23 from 3 to 8 pm an open house at Pincrest Country Club on Algonquin Blacktop northeast of town invites all to attend. Bob Zanzig named head professional. course opens Monday May 1.

Grafton Town Meeting Elects Brunschon and Stroupe
The annual township meeting at the township garage opened at 8 p.m. with Howard Ruth presiding. Vernon Brunschon was elected moderator and C. R. Stroupe acting clerk. Reports on town funds and road and bridge funds were approved. The board authorized posting weight limits of 12 000 pounds per axle on township roads and possible road closures up to 90 days per year. The 1973 meeting date was set for the second Tuesday in April.

Huntley Village Board discusses polishing pond and funds

Ronald Jirik and Daniel Ziller were elected to the District 158 Board of Education for a three year term. Jirik, incumbent, received 63 votes. Ziller 114 votes. write-in Robert Kunde received 47 votes. Election held last Saturday April 8.
