The annual Athletic Awards and Recognition banquet will be held Monday April 8 at 7 o clock in the Fire Barn. Burmaster, a former all state guard from Elgin who played four years at the University of Illinois, captained the 1948 team and earned MVP honors. He twice won the Rolf Woods Memorial Trophy for best free throw percentage. He played three years of professional basketball after college.

Huntley firemen extinguished two grass fires on Monday. The first occurred at 3 p.m. west of town one mile out on the Marengo blacktop. Later crews watched a second blaze east of town and allowed the field to burn off.
