Poetker Golden Wedding Celebrated In Huntingburg
Mr and Mrs Fred H Poetker marked their golden wedding anniversary Tuesday May 28 at their south Geiger street home in Huntingburg with a family gathering and six o'clock dinner. He was born in 1844 in Hanover Germany and immigrated in 1860, later serving in the 65th Indiana Infantry. They married in 1868 and raised eleven children. eight survive along with nine grandchildren. The couple long colored Pike and Huntingburg histories, with trusteeships, county treasurer duties and mercantile work noted. The Independent extends best wishes for many more years together.

Goepfrich Sentenced for Assault on Liberty Bond Salesman

Second Draft Call Begins June In Indiana Quota Set
